# Add colors to your Brand Kit in Genially

Well-chosen colors can make all the difference in your creations and your brand identity. That’s why it’s so important to choose a harmonious color palette that conveys the message you want to communicate to your audience. 

In Genially, you can add your color palette to your [brand kit](https://help.genially.com/en_us/brand-kit-in-genially-Hk25iPS2j) so that you always have your brand colors at hand when editing your creations.

## **How to add or remove brand colors**

To **add or remove** brand colors, you need to be an **Owner or Administrator** of the Workspace. 

Follow these steps to **add** brand colors:

*   In your **Workspace**, click on the ‘**Brand kit’** section in the left sidebar.
    
*   In the **Colors** tab, click the **+** button to open the color selector.
    
*   The color selector has 2 tabs:
    
    *   The ‘**Samples’** tab: Here you’ll find a selection of primary and secondary colors of different saturation levels. You can select a color by clicking on it. You can also enter any other color code in the hexadecimal (HEX) code field below. Finally, at the bottom of the tab, you’ll  find your most recently used colors.
        
    *   The ‘**Advanced’** tab: Here you can choose a color by dragging the cursor over the top area. Just below, you’ll find two sliders for adjusting the shade and brightness. In this tab you’ll also find the HEX code field, as well as the last colors you used.
        
*   A message will appear at the top right of the dashboard, confirming that the color has been successfully added. And you’re all set!
    

  

To **remove** a color, hover over it and click the **X** in the top right corner. A confirmation message will appear in the same panel area.

## **How to create brand palettes**

In the **Colors** section of the Brand kit, you can combine your swatches to create color palettes. These palettes let you apply several colors together whenever needed. You can even set a default palette, but you can still modify it for each creation.

## **How to use brand colors**

Once your brand colors are added to the Brand kit, they’ll be available to all team members.

When choosing a template, you can apply your brand palettes directly from the preview. You can also do it from the document’s **Colors** section in the Editor. The palette will automatically apply to the entire creation.

Your brand colors will also be available for any editable color element—text boxes, shapes, interactive elements, charts, backgrounds, and more.

To apply them, select an element and click the **Color** button in the top toolbar. A color menu will open with a **Brand colors** section.
