## **LTI 1.3**

Genially integrates easily with the main Learning Management Systems (LMS) through LTI 1.3, allowing teachers and students to access their interactive resources in a simple and secure way.

## **Enable integration with Canvas (LTI 1.3)**

If LTI 1.1 is already enabled for a course in Canvas, you must disable it before setting up the LTI 1.3 version.

  

### **Set up developer keys (LTI 1.3)**

1.  Log in to your Canvas account with administrator access.
    
2.  In the left side menu, click on **Administration**.
    
3.  In Administration, select your educational institution.
    
4.  In the side panel, click on **Development keys**.
    
5.  Click on **\+ Developer key** and then on **\+ LTI key**.
    
6.  Enter the following information:
    
    *   **Key name:** Genially LTI 1.3
        
    *   **Redirect URL:** https://lti-api.genially.com/ 
        
    *   **Title:** Genially
        
    *   **Description:** Genially integration with Canvas via LTI 1.3.
        
    *   **Target Link URL:** https://lti-api.genially.com/
        
    *   **OpenID Connect login URL:** https://lti-api.genially.com/login
        

**JWK method:** Select **JWK public URL** and enter https://lti-api.genially.com/key?id=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

7\. Expand the **Additional settings** option and type the following:

*   **Domain:** https://genially.com/
    
*   **Privacy level:** Select **Public**
    

**Locations:** Delete existing locations and add **Editor button** and **Task delivery**.

8\. Expand the **Edit button** option and configure the following:

*   **Target link URL:** https://lti-api.genially.com/
    
*   **Icon URL:** https://static.genially.com/resources/favicon.ico
    
*   **Text:** Genially
    
*   **Height:** 768
    
*   **Width:** 1024
    

9\. Expand the **Task delivery** option and configure the following:

*   **Target link URL:** https://lti-api.genially.com/
    
*   **Icon URL:** https://static.genially.com/resources/favicon.ico
    
*   **Add text:** Genially
    

10\. Click on **Save**.

11\. Enable the generated key by changing its status to **Enabled**.

12\. Click on **Save**.

  

## **Set up Canvas in Genially (LTI 1.3)**

1.  Open the Genially settings page and add the following information:
    
    *   **Platform ID:** https://canvas.instructure.com
        
    *   **Client ID:** Type, copy, or paste the numeric code found in the third column of your LTI key.

*   **Public key:** Enter https:/**/\[your-canvas-domain\]**/api/lti/authorize\_redirect and replace \[your-canvas-domain\] with your Canvas instance domain.
    
*   **Access token URL:** Enter https://**\[your-canvas-domain\]**/api/lti/security/jwks **and replace \[your-canvas-domain\]** with your Canvas instance domain.
    
*   **Authentication endpoint URL:** Enter https://\[your-canvas-domain\]/login/oauth2/token **and replace \[your-canvas-domain\]** with your Canvas instance domain.

2.  Click on **Save changes** and enable LTI 1.3 in your Genially account.

# **Add geniallys in SCORM format to Canvas**

To insert a genially as an activity in Canvas, you need to first export it as a SCORM package from Genially and then upload it to your LMS.

## **1\. Export your genially as SCORM package**

1.  In Genially, go to the Editor of the creation you want to download in SCORM package format.
    
2.  Click on the hamburger menu in the upper right corner.
    
3.  Click on **Download SCORM package**.
    
4.  Choose the **preset** according to the tracking objective you want:  
      
    
    *   **Access**: Control access and time spent viewing the content and send this information to the LMS.  
          
        
    *   **Progress**: Record the status and grade of the content based on the percentage of page views and send this information together with the content viewing time to the LMS.  
          
        
    *   Score: Select the pages that are important within the content for the calculation of the status and grade and send this information together with the content viewing time to the LMS.  
          
        
    *   **Questions**: Record the answers to the interactive questions and send this information together with the content viewing time to the LMS.  
          
        
5.  Download the generated ZIP file.

## **2\. Set up SCORM in Canvas**

*   Within a Course where you have editor permission, click on the SCORM link.
    
*   Click on the "Upload" button.
    
*   Select the file from your computer and click the Open button.
    
*   Upload the ZIP file you downloaded from Genially.
    
*   Once the file has been uploaded, select the object import type.
    
*   Click on the "Choose Import Type" menu and select an option. You can import the file as a graded task, an ungraded task, or a page.
    
*   Click on the Go button.
    
*   Imported SCORM tasks are also displayed in the Task Index.
    
*   Once imported, you can switch the task to a task group and add it as a module element.
