## How to create an image

1.  Access the image generator from different places:
    1.  From **Resources – Images – Image with AI**
    2.  From **Insert – Image – Image with AI**
    3.  Or from the **Genially AI** shortcut in the bottom menu.
2.  A modal opens where you can describe the image you want to create. You have a 1,000-character limit, so include as many details as possible to get better results.
3.  **Choose the AI model.** You can create your images with Ideogram, NanoBanana, or Flux Schnell. Each model offers different visual styles and has a different credit cost.
4.  **Choose the style** you want for your image, or upload a reference image to keep the same look and feel.
5.  Select the size of your image: square, horizontal, or vertical.
6.  Finally, click **Generate.** The image will appear on the canvas, and you’ll also find it in the Insert section and under My uploads in resources and backgrounds.
7.  If your image description is too general, we’ll give you the option to improve it with AI. That way, you’ll get better results right away without using extra credits.

## How to edit an image

1.  Select the image you want to edit and click the AI icon—either in the bottom menu or the element menu.
2.  Genially AI will open in edit mode.
3.  You have 3 options to edit your image:
    1.  Use **quick actions** like removing the background or enhancing the quality. These actions run with a single click. From the quick actions, you can also [**make it interactive**](https://help.genially.com/en_us/how-to-create-an-interactive-image-with-ai-SkqxdOLBMe) so the AI adds points of interest with tags to your image. This way, you can explain it interactively.
    2.  Edit based on suggested **ideas**. These are AI-generated suggestions tailored to your image. You can adjust them to fit your needs.
    3.  **Describe** **freely** what you want to change.
4.  Once you're happy with the changes, click **“Apply changes.”** Your image will be updated.

## Tips for describing your image

The better you describe what you want, the more detailed the resulting image will be. Follow these tips to create a complete description:

*   **Describe the main subject.** Clearly and concisely explain what should appear in the image, and feel free to include examples.
*   **Add details about the visual style:** illustration, cinematic style, surreal, abstract, minimalist…
*   **Define colors or a color palette.** Do you want bright, pastel, or dark colors? Also specify dominant colors like “gold and blue” or “warm tones.”
*   **Specify the setting or background**, whether it’s a natural or urban landscape, science fiction, or fantasy.
*   **Composition and perspective**. Play with framing and angles: low-angle shot, close-up, aerial view…
*   Add **specific details**, such as the size of elements, actions, or movement.
*   **Counteract bias**. Specify gender, origin, etc.
