The **Dice**, **Coin**, and **Randomizer** components are interactive elements that let you generate a random result from a set of options: numbers, colors, two sides of a coin, images, letters, and more.

They’re super easy to use: just click the element, and you’ll get an unexpected result. This makes them perfect for **gamifying experiences**, since they add surprise, excitement, and interaction.

Because they’re impartial, they’re also really useful in situations where you need a drawing, a tiebreaker, or a quick decision.

## **Features of Dice, Coin, and Randomizer**

* **Direct interaction**: one click = one result.

* **Sound included**: a shuffling sound effect plays automatically. It can’t be muted unless you disable it in the viewer.

* **Randomness**: all options have the same chance of being selected.

* **Actions after the result**: you can play audio, open a window, go to another page, show or hide elements, or apply effects when each result happens.

* **Metrics**: in Designer mode you can rename the component to track clicks in the Activity – Global section.

* **Animations**: you can customize entry and exit animations to your liking.

## **How to add the Dice, Coin, or Randomizer components**

1. In the left-hand menu, go to **Components** \> **Games** section and select **Dice**, **Coin**, or **Randomizer**, whichever you prefer.

2. Inside each component, you’ll find several variations depending on your choice:

1. **If you choose Dice**, you can pick a 6- or 8-sided die, color dice, math dice, or directional dice.

2. **If you choose Coin**, you can pick heads or tails, yes or no, or win or lose.

3. **If you choose Randomizer**, you can pick from square images, polaroid style, circular images, rock-paper-scissors, or the alphabet (a random letter).

3. If you change your mind later, you can **swap** one type of die or coin for another from the right-hand menu.

4. For Randomizer, you can **replace images**, adjust their size, and set a start or cover image. Add or remove as many images as you like (to work properly, the component must contain at least two images). If you want to create accessible content, we recommend writing alternative text for each image. That way, people using screen readers will receive the right information and context.

5. Click the hand icon next to each random option to **add actions**. For example: when the result is the coin’s reverse side, the color green, the number 4, the letter C, or a specific image, the action you’ve set will happen right after, like opening a window, going to a page, or playing audio. **Here’s a tip:** Copy the interactivity from one result and paste it into others to edit faster.

## **Ideas to make the most of it**

* **Use a die to make decisions in a game.** For example, if the participant rolls a 5, the game continues in a specific way.

* **Use a coin to give a prize or reward.** For example, if the participant flips the coin and wins, they get a reward. Imagine a diamond, an extra life, or a star.

* **Use a randomizer to create a challenge.** For example, guessing what several images have in common. You can also use it to pick a character in a game or to **teach or expand knowledge** about a topic. For example, learning animal sounds.

Now you’ve got everything you need to add these components to your creations and create gamified experiences.
