This location helps us ensure that your data is protected and that we comply with all privacy regulations.  Our main servers are located in an Amazon Web Service (AWS) data processing center. For your peace of mind, our servers comply with the highest security standards required by European data protection laws in order to prevent loss or theft, and also to avoid international transfers of our clients' data. Your information is in good hands. ## What happens when suppliers from outside the EU participate? When we work with a supplier located outside the EU, we ensure that they meet the same data protection standards required by the GDPR. We use specific contracts and agreements to ensure that your data is always secure.  Furthermore, if these suppliers are in the United States, we rely on the EU regulation that defines the [adequacy of the data policy between the EU and the US](https://commission.europa.eu/document/fa09cbad-dd7d-4684-ae60-be03fcb0fddf_en), and that ensures the protection of your personal data according to the privacy laws of the European Union. This means that we will retain your data for as long as we have a contractual or business relationship with you.  If you choose to object or to delete your data, we will only continue to store it (but not use it) if it is needed for legal reasons or to handle potential problems.  ## Our security breach notification protocol In the unlikely event that a security breach occurs, we have an action protocol, which includes notifying the authorities immediately. The security of your data is non-negotiable, and we take prompt action to ensure that your rights and freedoms remain intact. ## Beyond GDPR: FERPA and COPPA laws That’s not all; we comply with the FERPA and COPPA laws, which makes Genially a trustworthy platform even beyond EU borders. As a tool used in schools and educational institutes and by minors, it is also our priority to provide a secure environment that protects the privacy of student data. Minors can let their creativity and ingenuity run free with Genially, in an environment that’s specially prepared and secured for them. In compliance with these regulations, for a minor under 13 years of age to be able to use the tool in the US, we request authorization from a parent or guardian.   As well as the fact that their personal information is protected and won’t be used for advertising purposes, certain features of Genially are also adapted to maintain the privacy of all the content they create.  This way, all their creations are only accessible within the safe space in Genially, meaning they cannot be published on third-party sites like social media, nor indexed in search engines like Google.
