Did you know you can include interactive questions in your content to track how your audience engages with your creations? Here’s everything you need to know to start using image-based poll questions in Genially.

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to:

*   Add an image-based poll

*   Customize an image-based poll

*   Delete an image-based poll

* Collect responses from an image-based poll

*   Configure an image-based poll

##

## **Add an image-based poll**

You can add image-based polls to your creations in just a few simple steps:

1. Select the page where you want to add the poll.

2. Click **Interactive questions** from the left-hand editor menu.

3. Select the **Image-based poll** option.

4. The poll will appear on the canvas and the **Settings panel** will open on the right side of the screen.

**Note:** The image-based poll is only available on Expert, Genius, Master, and Author plans as it is part of the **Individual Activity** feature exclusive to these plans.

## **Customize an image-based poll**

1. Edit the question text and answer choices in the **Content** tab of the settings panel (max. 40 characters).

2. Enter the question you want to ask your audience in the **Question** text box (max. 100 characters).

3. In the **Options** section, you can add up to 6 answer choices.

4. Enable the **Allow multiple selection** option if you want your audience to choose more than one answer.

5. Enable **Show results after submitting** if you want your audience to see poll results immediately after responding.

6. To **delete an answer option**, hover over the image and click the trash bin icon. Note: You must include at least 2 options.

7. If you configure only one option as correct, you can also **enable the Submit button** if you want a button to appear for the audience to send their response after clicking. If you don’t enable it, the response will be submitted automatically.

From the  **Actions tab**  you can set what happens when answers are submitted:

1. **After answering:**  Select this option to show an interactivity when the audience answers a question.

2. **Based on the result:**  Select this option to show an interactivity when the audience gets a question right and/or wrong.

To add the interactivity in either case, just click the hand icon that appears when you select “After answering” or “Based on the result.”
**Note:**  Some interactions aren’t compatible with each other. You’ll see some grayed out, meaning you can’t select them.

1. **Message after answering:**  You can display a message once the answer is submitted. For Evaluation questions, you can show a message depending on whether the answer is correct or incorrect.

2. **Timer:**  This option is ideal if you want to set a countdown and limit the time the audience has to answer.

    1. Duration: Set the time you want. (Minimum: 1 second. Maximum: 99 minutes 59 seconds).

    2. You can also add an optional message that appears when the answer time runs out.

**5\. Go to page action:**  With this action, you decide which page the audience goes to after answering the interactive question. When enabled, the following options will appear:

3. **Stay on this page:** The audience stays on the current page.

4. **Next page:** Default setting. The audience moves to the next page after answering.

5. **Go to another page:** You can choose which page the audience goes to after answering.

You can also set the delay between when the audience clicks Submit and when the next action runs (Max. 99 seconds).

1. You’ll find this setting next to the “After answering” or “Based on the result” options.

Open the menu by clicking the arrow and select the number of seconds. Done!

**IMPORTANT:** When you edit an interactive question, the individual activity report will show the latest version of the questions and answers, overwriting any previous versions.

## **Delete an image-based poll**

To delete a poll, click on it and then click the **Trash bin** icon in the editor toolbar, or press the _Delete_ key on your keyboard.

**IMPORTANT:** If you delete an interactive question, it may affect the results shown in the individual activity report.

## **Collect responses from an image-based poll**

To collect, view, and download responses from interactive questions, you must enable the **Individual Activity** feature. Here’s how:

**From the dashboard:**

1. Log in to your Genially account.

2. Click **Activity** in the left-hand menu.

**From the editor:**

1. Click the **Activity** icon in the top-right corner of the editor.

2. If your creation isn’t published yet, a pop-up will prompt you to publish it. You can skip this step and go straight to the **Activity** tab.

3. Enable the **Individual** option to start collecting response data.
