# How to create interactive questions with Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Genially

Artificial Intelligence is a tool that has revolutionized the way we understand the world. At Genially, we want to make good use of this technology to inspire and save time.

  

With AI, you can generate content for your interactive questions and speed up the creation of quizzes and assessment activities. How does it work? We’ll walk you through it:

*   How to generate questions and answers with AI

## How to generate questions and answers with AI

To start using AI in your interactive questions, you have two options:

  

### Create interactive questions with AI

1.  In the editor, click the button with the AI icon located at the bottom.
    
2.  A modal will open where you will see different options to create items with Artificial Intelligence.
    
3.  Click the **Interactive question** button.
    
4.  In the **Questions with AI** section, briefly describe the topic of your question (up to 140 characters). For example: facts about World War II.
    
5.  Select the interactive question type under Type. You can also choose **All** so the generator suggests different question types.
    
6.  Select the number of questions you want for each type (max. 5).
    
7.  If you have a **higher** **premium plan**, you can also add a PDF to provide more context for generating the questions by clicking **Add PDF**.
    
8.  If you do, a screen will open where you can select a PDF from your computer to upload.
    
9.  Select the PDF. (If generation fails, try a smaller PDF, as very large files can’t be processed.)
    
10.  Click Open.
    
11.  You’ll see a small icon in the bottom-left corner of the description field showing the name of the file you’ve just uploaded.
    
12.  Click **Generate**.
    
13.  A modal will appear with different question types related to the topic you described.
    
    1.  You can choose one or more options to add to your creation. Click the **square** in the top-left corner of the question to select it.
        
    2.  You can edit the question description to update the generated content. Simply rewrite the topic and click **Update**.
        
    3.  If you want to choose another question type with the same topic, you can generate more options. Scroll down and click **Load more**.
        
14.  Select the options you want and click **Add**. You’ll see the selected questions on the canvas and can move them to other pages.

### **Edit interactive questions with AI** 

1.  On the canvas, click the interactive question you want to edit.
    
2.  Click the **Edit with AI** button that appears in the top-right corner of the question.
    
3.  In the modal that appears, briefly describe the topic of your question (up to 140 characters). For example: facts about World War II.
    
4.  Click **Update** to regenerate the content.
    
5.  Select the options you want and click **Add**. You’ll see the selected questions on the canvas and can reposition them on other pages.
