# How to get your audience to drag elements in your Genially

Did you know that people can interact with your creation by dragging elements? This type of interaction makes it possible to **move images, text, icons, and many other resources** from one area of your creation to another.

  

In this tutorial, we’ll cover:

*   How to make an element draggable
    
*   How to create a complete drag-and-drop activity
    
*   How to give hints about which elements are draggable
    

  

## **How to make an element draggable**

To enable drag mode:

1.  Select the element you want to make draggable. For example, an image.
    
2.  There are several ways to make it draggable:
    
    1.  Click the hand-shaped icon in the top toolbar.
        
    2.  Right-click on the element and click **Enable drag**.
        
    3.  Click the ⋮ (more) icon and select _Enable drag_.
        
    4.  Use the keyboard shortcut **CTRL/CMD + ↑ + E**.
        

That element can now be dragged when viewing your creation and **placed anywhere**. If you want it to **stop being draggable**, use the same options.

## **How to create a complete drag-and-drop activity**

You might want more than just dragging elements—you may also want them to show positive feedback (an animation, a sound, an effect…) when they’re placed in their **target area**, or return to their original position if they’re dropped in the wrong place. If that’s the case, we recommend using **Drag-and-drop interactivity**, which allows you to create relationships between draggable elements and target areas. ## **How to show which elements are draggable**

Want draggable elements to stand out from the rest? Then go to Preferences (the **☰** icon in the top-left corner) and enable **Indicate if it can be dragged**. When a draggable element exists, an icon will appear on top of it.

Dragged elements will return to their original position when you change pages, reload the Genially, and/or close the browser tab where the creation is open.
