# How to play audio by clicking or hovering on an element

What happens when you combine Genially's interactivity with audio? Make your content even more engaging by enabling users to play sounds when they [click or hover](https://help.genially.com/en_us/how-to-trigger-interactions-on-hover-and-click-ry46CpKcg) on an element.

Play music, a voice recording, or sound effects when users interact with an image, button, shape, or any other element.   
  
Audio interactions are great for gamification, breakouts, and learning experiences, but they work well in all kinds of content.

  

Applying this interactivity is super easy. All you have to do is:

1.  Click on the element you want to link the sound to
    
2.  Click the interactivity button that appears right above the element
    
3.  In the interactivity window, click the Audio interactivity
    
4.  You have different options to add audio:
    
    1.  Upload audio from your device
        
    2.  Record audio
        
    3.  Generate an AI voiceover
        
    4.  Select audio from our sound library
        
5.  Once selected, you can edit it (enable loop playback, shorten the duration, or replace it) and click “Save.”
    
6.  That’s it! The audio is now linked and will play when the element is clicked.
    

  

To edit the audio clip or replace it, select the element, and click on **Audio** > **E****dit interactivity**.

**TIP:** If you [upload](https://help.genial.ly/insert-an-audio-from-your-device-in-genially-B1l3cPBno) or [record](https://help.genial.ly/how-to-record-audio-in-genially-SyHj9PS3s) audio, it will be available in the Audio interactivity window until you exit the Editor, without the need to upload it again.
