Sometimes, simply sharing the link to your creation isn’t enough—you may need to prevent just anyone from viewing it. If you’re on a premium plan, you can add a password or give restricted access.

## Steps to protect with a password

If you’re editing your creation:

1. Click the **Share** button in the top-right corner.
2. Select Anyone with the link can view your creation and click **Change privacy.**
3. Enable **Protect with password,** create a password, confirm the changes—and you’re all set!

Before editing, you can quickly access your creations from the **Content** section.

1. Hover over the thumbnail of the creation that’s in **draft** and that you want to protect with a password when sharing.
2. Click the **Share** icon and enable **Protect with password**. Create the password and click **Continue.**

If you follow either of these processes, anyone who accesses your creation’s link will need to enter the password to view the content. If you ever need to change it, just repeat the process.

## How to protect a page with a password

Whether you’re on a free or premium plan, you can add a password to one or more pages of your creation. This is especially useful for content like escape rooms or games where your audience needs to unlock something with a code. It’s also a great way to protect sensitive content or data.

1. While editing your creation, click the **Pages** section.
2. Go to the page you want and click the **key** icon.
3. Create a password to protect that page.

Repeat this process for as many pages as you like.

## How to give restricted access

If you’re on a premium plan, there’s another way to protect your creations: giving restricted access to specific people so that only those you explicitly add can view your creation. Keep in mind that this **requires logging in to Genially**, so you’ll need to know the email addresses associated with their Genially accounts.

If you’re editing your creation:

1. Click the **Share** button in the top-right corner.
2. Make sure the specific people are listed under **People with access** (view only). If not, click **Add people.**
3. Select **Restricted.** You can copy the link and share it however you like—or do nothing, since those people will receive a notification. Once they log in to Genially, they’ll be able to view your creation from **Content – Shared with me.**

Before editing, you can also access your creations quickly from the **Content** section.

1. Hover over the thumbnail of the creation in **draft** that you want to give restricted access to.
2. Click the **Share** icon and select **Restricted.**
3. Click **Continue** and add the email addresses of the people you want.

This option is ideal for sharing internal content, educational materials with specific students, or more confidential corporate projects.
