# How to set up privacy for your creations

When it comes to privacy, the options available depend on whether you’re using a free or a premium plan.

1.  If you’re on the **free Genially plan**, creations shared with **Anyone with the link** are **visible in search engines** by default. You can [**mark them as reusable**](https://help.genially.com/en_us/make-your-genially-reusable-SygM5vB3s) and turn them into templates. However, you can’t hide them from search engines, protect them with a password, or restrict access to specific people.
2.  If you’re on a **Genially premium plan**, creations **shared with** **Anyone with the link** are **visible in search engines by default**. However, **you can hide them** if you prefer they don’t appear in search results. You can also [**mark them as reusable**](https://help.genially.com/en_us/make-your-genially-reusable-SygM5vB3s), protect them with a password, or [**restrict access**](https://help.genially.com/en_us/set-a-password-for-a-genially-rJ5yqPBhs) to specific people.

  

## Visible or hidden in search engines?

If you work as part of a team, keep in mind that you may be **sharing a workspace**. In that case, the team owner can go to **Settings – Permissions** and define the **default visibility** for all creations:

*   **Visible in search engines** (configurable): Creations are visible in search engines by default. This setting can be changed.
*   **Hidden from search engines** (configurable): Creations are hidden from search engines by default. This setting can be changed.
*   **Hidden from search engines** (fixed): All creations remain hidden from search engines permanently. This setting can’t be changed.

  

## Control where your creations can be viewed

Do you want your creations to be viewable only on specific websites? Then you’ll need to enable **domain restriction**, available on certain premium plans. This feature is especially useful to prevent unauthorized distribution, since your creations won’t be accessible via a direct link.

  

Domains can be restricted at team level or per creation.

*   **Only the team owner** can define which domains the team’s content can be viewed from. If that’s you, go to **Settings – Permissions** to configure it.

*   **Any team member** can decide whether the creation they’re editing is visible only on allowed domains or everywhere. Follow [**these steps**](https://help.genially.com/en_us/how-to-get-the-code-to-embed-your-genially-on-a-website-rJG0qvBni) to embed your creation using an iframe and select **Only on allowed domains.**

  

## All set!

If someone tries to view your content from a non-authorized domain, they’ll see a message saying the content isn’t authorized for viewing.

If you get an error when embedding a Genially on an authorized domain, it may be due to restrictions on that platform. To fix it, add the website shown in the error message to the list of allowed domains (**Settings – Permissions**).
