# Import a PowerPoint (pptx) into Genially

Can you imagine being able to make use of all that content you created in PowerPoint and breathe new life into it by adding interactivity? You can! And it’s super easy! We’ll explain how.

Import your PowerPoints into Genially, add interactivity and animation, and edit them however you like. In just a few clicks you can turn the same old tired content into amazing creations. You can also import Google Slides presentations by following the steps in [this tutorial](https://help.genial.ly/how-to-import-google-slides-into-genially-Hk86ySEa). 

  

**Importing your PowerPoint content into Genially is simple**. Follow these steps:

1\. From your main **Panel**, click on the **Create genially** button.

2\. In the menu that appears, click on the **Import** option and then on **PowerPoint (PPTX)**. Your device’s File Explorer will open..

3\. Choose the file you want to import. Bear in mind that the file should have the extension .PPTX and must not exceed 100 MB.

**IMPORTANT:** If your file is not in PPTX format, you’ll need to change it in the application you used to create the file and save it as PPTX. 

4\. You’ll see a notification which says the import is in progress. When the process has finished, **we’ll email you** to let you know that your file is now available for you to edit in Genially.

When you have received the confirmation email, this means that your genially is ready in your Panel.

The time has come to bring your content to life! Go to Genially and you’ll see that your PowerPoint has been imported just as it was. Now you can edit it to apply plenty of [interactivity](https://help.genial.ly/setting-up-interactivity-in-genially-BJHrqwSho) and [animation](https://help.genial.ly/add-animation-to-the-elements-of-your-creation-in-genially-HJMHcDrni), and add all the content you want. Very soon you’ll have spectacular content to share with the world.

Please note that:

*   Resources that are imported from your PPTX to Genially are:
    
    *   Shapes and pictures: These items are imported into the Editor in image format. Compatible formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG, SVG, and GIF.
        
    *   Texts: These are imported as editable text boxes.
        
    *   Graphs: The graph and charts you added in PowerPoint will be editable in Genially. Follow the steps in [this tutorial](https://help.genial.ly/insert-and-edit-a-graph-or-chart-in-your-genially-SkHh5vr3o).
        
    *   Tables: You can also edit tables that you have added from PowerPoint by following the steps in [this tutorial](https://help.genial.ly/insert-and-edit-a-table-in-your-genially-Syf35Dr3j).
        
*   It might not be possible to import some items mentioned above due to incompatibilities between the tools. There are also other items that cannot be imported, such as applied animations, files you have inserted or attached, or PowerPoint-exclusive resources and items, among others.
