_“Where’s the repeated image? _Which images are connected?_”___ Match the Pair is a card component based on the classic memory game. With Genially, you can create it without spending time manually linking cards. Just pick your images and let the game mechanics do the magic.

Each round tests visual memory, sharpens focus, and sparks a little healthy competition.

## **Match the Pair game features**

* **Up to 10 card pairs**: Start with 4 image pairs and expand up to 10 (that’s 20 cards total).

* **Images or GIFs**: Use either—or both!

* Cards are hidden from the start—no memorization phase needed.

* **Visual and audio feedback**: Each match or miss plays a sound, and when the game is completed... confetti time!

* **Customization**: Add a title and sound to each image pair, or personalize the card backs with your own image or logo.

* **Responsive**: Automatically adapts to all screen sizes.

* **Accessible**: Navigate with a keyboard, add alt text to each pair, and include screen reader-friendly descriptions.

## **How to create your Match the Pair game**

1. In the left-hand menu, go to the **Components** section and select the **Activities** category.

2. Choose one of the options: identical pairs or different pairs that are connected.  You can also add a short audio clip to each pair or image.

3. In the right-hand menu, you can **replace** the default images and add a title to each one.

4. **Add** new pairs (up to 10).

5. **Customize** the title of each pair and update the card backs—maybe with your logo!

6. Add an action at the end, like triggering an effect, going to another page, or playing a sound.

7. Customize the number of rows however you like.

If you want to create accessible content, we recommend adding alt text to each image pair. That way, screen reader users can access that information and get a clearer idea of the game context.

## **Tips to get the most out of it**

* **Pair the game with a timer** to turn it into a race against the clock (configured separately).

* **Play with the number of cards.** Fewer pairs make the game quicker and easier. More pairs increase the challenge.
