At Genially, we’ve integrated Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help you move faster and spark inspiration while you create. All without losing control of your work. Technology gives you a boost, but you stay in charge. And above all, your information is always safe and private.

## **User control**

Genially’s AI works through a [**shared credit system**](https://help.genially.com/en_us/how-do-ai-credits-work-HJoCsWt0eg?from=support). Each team member is free to decide how and when to use AI, based on the credits and features included in their plan. With Enterprise and Campus plans, the team owner has even more control and can **block access to AI features**.

We’re fully committed to transparency. Team owners and admins have complete visibility into how AI is used across their team. All members can also see the number of available credits and how many credits are used for each action.

  

## **Security, privacy, and data protection**

Creativity needs a safe environment. That’s why we work with the highest standards:

*   **SOC 2**, which ensures compliance with strict best practices for privacy and security
    
*   **GDPR** (General Data Protection Regulation)
    
*   **CCPA** (California Consumer Privacy Act)
    
*   **EU AI Act**, under Regulation (EU) 2024/1689
    

To provide AI services, we use third-party models such as OpenAI (ChatGPT), Polly (AWS), and Flux. Only text content is sent. **We never send personal data.** This information is used solely to generate the expected output and **is not stored or used to train the tools**.

  

## **Intellectual property**

All generated results are yours. They’re stored in your Genially workspace, but only accessible to the people you’ve shared the creation or workspace with.

  

## **Recommended practices**

Genially may suspend or remove accounts where improper or irresponsible use of AI is detected, including (but not limited to) the following purposes:

*   Making someone believe that AI-generated content was created by a person
    
*   Providing medical, legal, or financial advice
    
*   Generating contracts, legal documents, or electoral propaganda
    
*   Generating source code
    
*   Generating spam, ransomware, viruses, or any other type of software
    
*   Generating sexual, explicit, discriminatory, racist, misogynistic, anti-religious, or any other content that goes against the law, public morals, or public order
    

All AI-generated results should be reviewed manually. We also recommend clearly stating when Artificial Intelligence has been used.

  

## **Use of AI by minors**

K–12 students under the age of 16 **do not have access to AI features**. In the U.S., this also applies to minors under 13, who are protected by FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) and COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act).

Students in Higher Education and University settings can use AI according to the features available in their plan.
