Do you want to elevate the visual experience of your content? Galleries allow you to organize, display, and browse multiple images in a visually appealing and interactive way, in a compact space.

In Genially you’ll find different gallery designs or styles (all of which are free) that allow you to organize your creation’s images according to your needs, and without cluttering the screen.

In this tutorial we’ll show you how to use galleries in your creations, and explain some of their features.

##

## Gallery features

There are two main styles of galleries. Some base their design and operation on a carousel of images, while others display images in a regular or irregular grid. You can choose between horizontal or vertical (mobile-optimized) format.

Now we’ll explain how **carousel galleries** work; it's simple. The carousel is the main element, and the viewer can move forward or backward through the images using controls or by clicking on them.

<span class="fr-mk" style="display: none;">&nbsp;</span><span class="fr-mk" style="display: none;">&nbsp;</span><span class="fr-mk" style="display: none;">&nbsp;</span><span class="fr-mk" style="display: none;">&nbsp;</span><span class="fr-mk" style="display: none;">&nbsp;</span>

In Genially carousels you can:

* Include up to 30 images, GIFs, or illustrations from Genially's library, plus images from your brand kit or uploaded from your device, Google Drive, or a URL.

* Scroll through images manually or set to autoplay

* Enable or disable navigation controls

Now let's see how **mosaic galleries** work. The images are displayed in a regular or irregular grid, combining images of different dimensions. You can include up to 4 or 5 images, GIFs, or illustrations from the Genially library (depending on the design), plus images from your brand kit or uploaded from your device, Google Drive, or a URL.

<span class="fr-mk" style="display: none;">&nbsp;</span><span class="fr-mk" style="display: none;">&nbsp;</span><span class="fr-mk" style="display: none;">&nbsp;</span><span class="fr-mk" style="display: none;">&nbsp;</span><span class="fr-mk" style="display: none;">&nbsp;</span><span class="fr-mk" style="display: none;">&nbsp;</span><span class="fr-mk" style="display: none;">&nbsp;</span>

Genially galleries, both carousels and mosaics, allow you to enlarge each image by clicking on it and to add captions to each image.

Finally, you can also use **interactive galleries**, like the sliding carousel or the rotating carousel. Beyond adding images, these let you add interactivity — for example, having a click on an image open a window, trigger an effect, or redirect to another page.

## How to add a gallery to your canvas

1. n the left-hand menu, click **Components**. There, you'll find the **Galleries** category.

2. Choose the gallery you want to use in your creation, according to the style or layout you want.

3. In the menu on the right, you can replace the default images, add a title to each one, or add more images, GIFs, or illustrations. You can also choose between landscape or portrait format, switch to a different gallery, or adjust the size of the images to the full gallery space.

If you want to create accessible content, we recommend writing the alternative text for each image. That way, people who use screen readers will be able to receive this information and have some context on your gallery.

Before we go, do you want some ideas for the different kinds of galleries you can create? Here you go!

1. Show a process or path via several images, representing the start and end points.

2. Create an image carousel for a product or service, with photos from different angles.

3. Use a mosaic or carousel to highlight some products on a website (you can embed a genially in it).

4. If you want to create a portfolio, your projects will look great in a mosaic.

Explore different galleries and make the most of Genially's visual and interactive resources. You’ll soon see how it improves your audience’s experience with your content.
